Deleting your Neokraal account
You can close your account at any time, from the app or by writing to us. This page explains how, and what becomes of your data.
From the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Under Security, tap Delete my account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no cooling-off period: once confirmed, it cannot be undone.
Without the app
If you no longer have access to the app, write to us from the contact page, quoting your NK reference or the email address linked to the account. We verify your identity before any deletion, then process the request within thirty days.
What is erased
- Your name or company name, your email address and your phone number.
- Your date of birth, occupation, marital status and city.
- Your identity document: the images submitted, their type and their number.
- Your password and any open sessions.
- Your notifications.
Your listings are removed from the Kraal and stop being visible.
What is kept, and why
The accounting entries of your past transactions remain, but detached from your identity: they no longer carry your name or your contact details. Neokraal keeps a double-entry ledger whose balances must sum to zero. Deleting entries would break that equality and corrupt the accounts of everyone who ever traded with you. These entries are kept for as long as applicable accounting and legal obligations require.
Your NK reference stays reserved and will never be assigned to anyone else. That is a safeguard: without it, someone who saved you as a contact could one day send money to a stranger believing they were paying you.
Before deletion is possible
Deletion is refused while:
- your current account or your held balance is not zero;
- a withdrawal is pending at a distributor;
- an order is open, as a buyer or as a seller.
These situations commit value with someone else. Withdraw your balance at a distributor and wait for open operations to conclude.
Distributor and administrator accounts cannot be closed from the app: they commit capital and a position in the network. Closing them goes through their administrator.
